At Park Academy we aim to make learning inspiring, challenging and enjoyable enabling students to achieve high levels of academic success. We provide sixth form students with numerous opportunities to develop their professionalism and independence within the school day.

Students have timetabled independent study periods where they are required to take ownership of their learning. They also have timetabled enrichment, student leadership, work experience and other opportunities to develop them as well rounded citizens.

All Year 12 students will complete the Aspirations Employability Diploma (AED), which is unique to the Aspirations Academies Trust. The AED enables students’ continuous reflection with regards to career planning. It provides students the opportunity to work alongside professionals from active companies and industries operating in our world today.

The projects are designed to allow students to develop a wide range of transferable skills to maximise their learning potential. Students are also offered the chance to apply for a once in a lifetime experience to visit NASA in the USA. It is a fantastic trip and allows the students the opportunity to go behind the scenes and meet with astronauts and other NASA employees.

Park Academy Sixth Form prepares students as they move onto university, apprenticeships or the career of their choice. Students will be supported by a team of expert teachers and their Academic Mentor who will make sure that students have all the information and experience needed to be successful in their next steps.

Students will participate in a programme of university visits, interview practice and work experience to support them in making decisions about their future.

All students are supported through their time at Park Academy Sixth Form academically and pastorally. Student voice is welcomed and the views of the students are used to help shape the future of the sixth form.
