What are A Levels?
A Levels are the most common form of academic learning after GCSEs. There are a wide range of A Level subjects available, some of which you might not have studied at GCSE. Here are some things to think about:
- Which subjects are you strong at? (The jump between GCSEs and A Levels is quite a big one!)
- Which subjects do you enjoy?
- Are you thinking about studying further, e.g. at university or a Degree Apprenticeship – are there specific subjects that you need to do at A Level?
- If you are picking a subject to study at A Level, which you haven’t studied before, are there particular GCSEs that you need to have taken?
If you need advice and support, speak to a careers adviser, a teacher or a member of the Admissions Team at the school sixth forms or colleges to which you intend to apply.
