The PRIDE Academy is a secondary special school for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our sixth form programme is designed to support students develop the skills they need for adulthood. Our aim is to prepare students for employment, independent living and to become positive citizens and role models within society.
The PRIDE Academy is based in a fantastic new building with light and airy classrooms and specialist teaching facilities. We have a new sixth form study centre where students will be supported by a dedicated team of professionals who will help students succeed. Our wonderful surroundings, targeted curriculum and celebration of individuality allows us to take PRIDE in all that we do.

The PRIDE Academy is a specialist SEND provider, teaching students with social, emotional and mental health needs. We structure our approach to the individual needs of the student as set out in their EHCP.
All our students will work towards qualifications in Work Skills, Maths, English and PSHE. Other courses on offer include Health and Social Care, Hair and Beauty, Child Development and Care in Early Years, Mechanics, Construction, Music and Business.
Students who have not experienced the subjects on our curriculum will start working towards the Level 1 qualification in Year 12. Students will then progress to Level 2 in Year 13 within their subject areas. Students who have completed a Level 1 qualification will complete their Level 2 qualifications in Year 12 and Year 13.
BTEC, City and Guilds and GCSE English and Maths are the key accreditation components but we also provide Functional Skills or Entry level qualifications to build confidence and provide functional levels of numeracy or literacy. Students will be joining our sixth form for the first time in September 2025 and we look forward to celebrating their achievements in due course.
